It's the Christmas season. Antiques store owner/operator Russell Carlisle comes into possession of what appears to be an authentic WWII US Army uniform, and with it a Christmas card love letter from Alice to Orin Newton, to whom the uniform belonged. Russell goes on a mission to return the uniform if not to Orin if he is still alive, then at least to his family, hopefully by Christmas. Posting a message on an online military forum in needing expert help, Russell is contacted by Caroline Upton, a local professor on military history and a recently retired US Army Major. Caroline becomes as engrossed as Russell in this mission, they not only on the task of returning the uniform, but hopefully to discover a happily-ever-after for Orin and Alice. As they follow one lead after another taking them in directions they probably did not envision, an attraction seems to be forming between them which may end up mirroring Orin and Alice. Russell and Caroline's own potential happily-ever-after is affected by what Caroline has not fully divulged, including her immediate possible future and case of PTSD from her time in the army.
