Bounty hunter Red Bill is on the hunt for a particular outlaw and is collecting the heads of other wanted individuals as he searches. His investigations take him to the town of Greenvale where he falls foul of the local sheriff Arthur McCoy who sees him as infringing on his territory. The sheriff is also not above using his position to enrich himself. In addition there is the gold-obsessed Thompson who is trying to acquire all the land in and around Greenvale by any means possible.
