Hunting the Giant Bluefin Tuna

Atlantic bluefin tuna, one of the largest fish in the sea, are making a surprise comeback off Northern Ireland's coast, sparking an ambitious new vision for local fishing. Davy Frayne and Jonny Thursby, two anglers from the town of Ballycastle, have been fishing for giant bluefin tuna in the area for six years. Now they are attempting to establish a bluefin fishery, boasting catches of up to 1,000 pounds in weight.

Ashington AFC: Saving Our Club

Ashington AFC is one of England's historic football teams. Now, in 2026, a tight-knit group of volunteers is fighting to keep the club alive. With the threat of relegation and financial pressures looming, can they keep their place in the league and secure the club's future? The club was founded in 1883 in Ashington, a place that once became known as the largest coal mining village in the world, which inspired the club's nickname, the Colliers. Ashington's history also became intertwined with the beautiful game, producing World Cup-winning brothers Jack and Bobby Charlton, among a host of other famous players.

Llandovery hot-air balloon pilot Laura Davies is preparing for the most important flight of her life. For years, ballooning was at the heart of Laura's family, but it was her husband, Arwel, who was the pilot. When Arwel died in a car accident in 2021, Laura could not imagine flying without him. For a year, she stayed firmly on the ground, her two children asking her what would happen to daddy's balloon.

Speed without Limits

Ally Chalmers was born to go fast. Growing up in Scotland, he was a fiercely competitive junior skier – racing down slopes, chasing medals, always pushing the limits. Then, just before he turned 14, everything changed. Ally crashed while skiing in the Scottish mountains and broke his back. He was airlifted to hospital in Glasgow, where he was told he would never walk again. After several months in hospital, unable to use his legs, Ally was told about a sport that he could do with just his hands: motor racing.

Builder by day and big cat investigator by night, Gary Ridley has spent the last 17 years on a quest to solve one of Britain's enduring mysteries: are big cats roaming freely in the countryside? At his side is Corrinne, his second-in-command at Surrey Panther Watch. Their weekends are spent loading their van with wildlife cameras and heading into the Surrey hills to scan the fields after dark.

Jamie McGregor and the passionate community helping to revive Scotland's ancient tradition of stone lifting. Once used as a test of strength, stone lifting is being reimagined for modern Scotland. Open to everyone – women and men, seasoned athletes and complete beginners alike – it has become a small but fiercely supportive community. The challenge is physical, but the reward is deeply emotional.

The Last Miner in the Band

Former miner Peter Lawson is the beating heart of Durham's Easington Colliery Band. He joined the band at 11 and has worked tirelessly for 55 years to keep it going. From managing the band, to moving equipment and raising money with a band cafe, the list is endless. His dedication has seen the band grow and in 2024 win the North of England Championships. Last year, they also performed with music legend Sam Fender.

This documentary follows Joe and her remarkable junior team at Mynydd Sleddog Adventures as they fight for qualification to represent Great Britain at the sled dog racing European championships in Sweden. They have qualified previously but couldn't attend due to the high cost of travelling to North America. Now, with a new season ahead, the stakes are higher, the pressure is heavier, and the dream feels both closer and more fragile than ever.

After losing his leg in a life changing accident as a teenager, digger operator Llywelyn Williams found solace in the ocean. Surfing played a pivotal role in his recovery, helping him rebuild his life from the ground up and propelling him to the pinnacle of his sport, four consecutive para surfing world championships. Now sitting on top of the adaptive surfing world, Llywelyn faces the ultimate test: staying there.

The life of a football legend as told by those who make the pilgrimage to his family home. Diving into football fandom at its most heartfelt - and obsessive. Now lovingly restored in a style that captures the 1960s, when George was at the height of his fame, and open for tours and overnight stays, George Best's childhood home at Burren Way on the Cregagh estate has become a place of reflection and reverence for football supporters from around the globe. This documentary captures the stories of those who travel from near and far - including visitors from Northern Ireland, Manchester, London, Wales, the USA, Germany and Australia - who all come to walk in the footsteps of their hero.
