When a great city is threatened by a wide assortment of supervillians, they shoot up the fireworks to summon the Mighty Heroes. This sextet of stumble bum heroes go out to confront the menace at hand, and with a great deal of difficulty, usually carry the day.

The Plastic Blaster

Sat, Oct 29, 1966

The Raven, a villain whose hideout is hidden in a mountain near Good Haven, attacks the city with his "plastic blaster" gun. It seals its victims in plastic. The Mighty Heroes respond. Eventually, the Raven (aided by his flock of villainous birds) gets the upper hand, sealing Tornado Man, Rope Man, Strong Man and Cuckoo Man in plastic. Diaper Man sneaks into the Raven's hideout and in the fight that follows, the other heroes are free. After disposing of the Raven's flock of birds, the villain is about to strike again. However, Diaper Man flings his bottle, jamming the barrel of the plastic blaster. It is now the Raven who's sealed up.

Question: I am having an argument with a friend about an old cartoon. She doesn't believe me when I tell her about The Mighty Heroes. I have found some info on the Web but was wondering if it was on TV or available on video so I can actually show her some episodes. Please e-mail me. Thank you.Answer: E-mail? Unfortunately, as far as I know episodes of Mighty Heroes are no longer on the air and aren't available on video anymore, but they have been on VHS in the past so you might be able to score a copy from your favorite online auction site or used-video outlet. If it helps your cause at all, however, I'm only too happy to confirm that the cartoon did indeed exist, especially since I used to catch it in syndication and loved it as a young'un.
