Top Moments: Stephen Colbert Dares to Dream, the Saved by the Bell Movie Is a Real Nightmare

Our top moments of the week: 11. Best Explanation: Remember when Gwen Stefani Adele Dazeem-ed Stephen Colbert's name at the Emmys? According to Adam Levine, Stefani was super-nervous backstage, even after he offered a helpful mnemonic device. "We're going up there, and the whole time she's like, 'I can't pronounce Colbert. I can't pronounce it,'" Levine says on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. "I was like, 'If he wins, think: cold bear.'" Of course, Stefani went with...

Top Moments: Sharknado 2 Bites Off More Buzz, Bachelorette's Awkward Sex Talk

Our top moments of the week:10. Best Impression: We're just going to pretend Zach's ridiculous gameplay this week on Big Brother is his impersonation of the recently evicted Devin. How else to explain his awful moves once he gets a slight taste of power as HOH? The highlight of Zach's stupidity comes at the nomination ceremony, where he compares alliance member Christine to notorious Season 14 floater Jenn and calls ...

Emmy Watch: How the Late Night Upheaval Could Shake Up the Variety Series Competition

When Johnny Carson signed off from The Tonight Show in 1992, his reign as the King of Late Night was celebrated with an Emmy win for Outstanding Variety, Music or Comedy Series. Granted, the competition that year was sparse: Fox's sketch-comedy show In Living Color and NBC's Late Night with David Letterman were the only others nominated. This year, as newly retired Tonight Show host Jay Leno attempts to secure one final nomination in the category now known as...

Stephen Colbert Addresses #CancelColbert Controversy: "I'm Not a Racist"

Stephen Colbert addressed the recent "#CancelColbert" Twitter controversy on The Colbert Report Monday, assuring viewers that he's not a racist, in spite of an ill-advised tweet that was sent out last week. "Who would have thought a means of communication limited to 140 characters would ever create misunderstandings?" Colbert pondered Monday. "I just want to say that I'm not a racist. I don't even see race. Not even my own. People tell me I'm white and I believe them, because I just devoted six minutes to explaining how I'm not a racist!"

VIDEO: Stephen Colbert Meets His Match in Witty Pussy Riot Interview

Despite the language barrier, Pussy Riot more than kept up with Stephen Colbert during their appearance on his faux conservative show Colbert Report. Masha Alyokhina and Nadya Tolokonnikova, two members of the Russian punk band who were recently released from prison for insulting Vladamir Putin, proved that humor isn't necessarily lost in translation. When Colbert, who was posing as a "friend" of Putin, told the pair they would be searched before leaving the building, Tolokonnikova quickly shot back, "We've had two years of practice hiding things from searches."

The Weekend Playlist: Amazon's Alpha House, Almost Human

There's another serious new player in the ever-expanding universe of online original-content providers (see: Netflix and Hulu) — and happily, Amazon's entry into this suddenly cluttered marketplace is not just seriously funny, but it's as bracingly timely as the latest exasperating political headline. Alpha House (three episodes bow Friday on amazon.com, with future episodes available to Amazon Prime subscribers) is satire at its most blistering and biting, delivered by a master of the trade: Doonesbury's Garry Trudeau, whose contempt for political cynicism, venality and hypocrisy doesn't keep the jaded protagonists of this bawdy, brazen comedy from being great company. The setting is a Washington, D.C., row house, home away from home for four Republican senators, led by the fearlessly outrageous John Goodman as a good-old-boy/former football star who's outraged to discover he won't be able to coast through his next election. (His new opponent: a legendary Duke coach. As someone observes: "You're like a retired god. He's active.")

Top Moments: Ted Meets the Mother (Sort Of) and Late Night's Epic Lip-Sync Battle

Our top moments of the week: 13. Best Sexual Harassment: In an effort to win back her old office on The Mindy Project, Mindy convinces her new (and much less alcohol-tolerant) co-worker, Paul (James Franco) to a shots-off. When Mindy drinks Paul under the table, literally, she helps walk him home and leaves him, unconscious, at the door to his apartment. But not before the newly engaged Mindy decides to go in for a kiss. The minute she presses her lips against his, however, the drunk Paul yells "Whoa, mama! Help me! Whoa!"  Apparently that wasn't as good for him as it was for...

Top Moments: Breaking Bad Treads Lightly and Dexter's Deadly Return

Our top moments of the week: 13. Best Sequel: In case you haven't seen Bar Mitzvah boy Sam Horowitz's amazing YouTube video, or for those who simply can't get enough, Good Morning America invites Horowitz to perform in Times Square. Billed as his "Broadway debut," Horowitz once again brings the goods and does a fine job breaking in the parquet laid down especially for him. The most adorable thing? Top Moments: The Week Stephen Colbert Did Everything Right

Our best moments of the week: 12. What's in a Name? Award: Is the world big enough for two famous Adam Scotts? After Adam Scott the golfer won the Masters, Adam Scott the actor was predictably inundated with jokes. And he's sick of it. "The jokes were really lame," the Parks and Recreation star vents on Conan. "'I can't believe anyone could mix up the two Adam Scotts. They're "Poehler" opposites.'
