The year is 1938. While Europe dances on the edge of the abyss, a dangerous web is being woven in Belgrade around the ratification of the Concordat. Count Cano and Milan Stojadinovic shape the fate of the Balkans, unaware that in the east of Serbia, at the bottom of the mystical Rtanj, anger is awakening that threatens to set the country on fire. Terrible events in an isolated monastery become a weapon in the hands of powerful figures from the "Conspiracy", an organization led by Zlata Miric and the mysterious Prizren, which heralds the end of the old order. Amidst the turmoil, the Minh family, owners of the Rtanj mines, try to preserve their property and peace, but looming conspiracies drag them into the center of a conflict beyond their control. While secret societies and conspirators are mobilizing in the backrooms of Belgrade, Tane fights with his own ghosts, waiting for the return of the only man he trusts - Stanko Pletikosic. Stanko gets out of prison into a world he no longer recognizes.

Belgrade is shaken by the news of the death of Julius Minh, the owner of the Rtnja mine. Although the scene in the "Moskva" hotel points to suicide, Tane and young Ceda Diklic suspect that the hanging is just a bloody show. Lavrentij Beria sends Mustafa Golubic on the most dangerous task so far - the return to Belgrade. In a world where no one trusts anyone, even within the Party, Mustafa must track down a mysterious group of conspirators backed by foreign powers. At the same time, in Paris, Josip Broz Tito is waiting for news from Moscow regarding his appointment as general secretary of the KPJ and meets Maja Davidovic. Stanko Pletikosic, who has just been released, joins the investigation, almost against his will, realizing that the city has changed in the four years of his absence, but the atrocities have remained the same.

While in the port of Rijeka the debts owed to Danilo Tomasovic are paid with blood, Belgrade becomes the scene of a cruel struggle for supremacy. Stanko Pletikosic, in search of answers and through cooperation with Krojac, makes a discovery that will change the dynamics of power in the Belgrade underground. After the death of the man suspected of murdering Julius Minh, Thanet and Ceda's investigation hits a wall. At the same time, in the relationship between Zlata Miric and Mustafa Golubic, passion and espionage intertwine in a dangerous dance, while Mustafa slowly gains the trust of the conspirators. Tane, haunted by visions and exhausted by the investigation, seeks help from Vanuca, who takes him to the edge between reality and nightmares, where he will have to face images from the past that haunt him.

The pause in the investigation leads to the knowledge that the "Rtanj cheese" is just a cover for the distribution of drugs that change the rules of the game in the Belgrade underground. Stanko must use all his insight to outsmart his enemies, but also Tomasovic, in order to discover who is behind the new goods on the market, while slowly taking over the Tailor's place in Jataganmala. Tane is in complete disarray. As visions from the Rtanj tunnel mix with images of political chaos in Belgrade, he realizes that the appearance of a new heroine and the mystical ore from the mine are part of the same, dark puzzle. On the brink of madness, Tane tries to warn Stanko that the enemy is not only on the street but also in what they cannot see.

Tane, devastated by another murder, goes with Cheda in search of Dido de Maya. Marija Orsic arrives in Belgrade, interested in the Minhov mine, when we discover who the new leader of the Belgrade Tula is. Josip Broz Tito is trying to find out why Maja Davidovic helped him, while Mustafa Golubic further complicates the situation of Prime Minister Stojadinovic with his assassination. Although Tomasovic slowly loses patience as he tries to figure out who is behind the new heroin smuggling operation, Stanko slowly puts things together and - with Kiro's release from prison - decides to take new steps.
