An t-Eilean (The Island) is set to be the UK's first high-end Gaelic drama series, and it's expected to premiere in early 2025 on BBC ALBA, BBC iPlayer, and BBC Four. No word yet on a US/CAN streaming outlet. This four-part murder mystery, blending Gaelic and English, unfolds on the island of Lewis and Harris, exploring lies, loss, and family secrets. Starring Sorcha Groundsell (His Dark Materials, Shetland) as Kat Crichton, a Family Liaison Officer returning to the island she fled ten years earlier, the series also features Sagar Radia (Industry) as DCI Ahmed Halim and Iain Macrae (Bannan) as Sir Douglas Maclean, a tycoon caught up in the investigation. Set against the dramatic backdrop of Scotland's Western Isles, the series explores the complexities of family and community while unraveling a murder mystery full of twists.
