Kosmas, an honest lorry driver and idealist breadwinner, works his fingers to the bone to support his mother and sister. Surrounded by mud and poverty, he nurtures the dream that he will soon leave behind the dark days and his sordid neighbourhood. But first, Kosmas must pay off a soaring debt. As a result, the cornered driver finds himself at a crossroads when an unscrupulous smuggler offers him a mutually beneficial partnership and the cash to grant his wish. The catch is his freedom. Now, Kosmas must pick sides; a decision that will test the very foundation of his unyielding principles. However, is hope enough to escape the slums?
