Frank Zito misses his mother terribly, who was killed in a car accident several years ago. She abused him and made money by selling her body for sex, but Frank still misses her anyway. He tries to keep her from leaving him and to make her reform and give up her evil ways by killing young women, scalping them and putting their scalps on a group of mannequins that he displays in his small one-room basement apartment. Photographer Anna D'Antoni takes a picture of him in Central Park one day and he both pursues and befriends her. Is she the one that he has been looking for all of his life, or is she just another Mother wannabe?
