Paul, a French architect, and Malgorzata, a Polish photographer meet in divided Berlin. Both have their own lives and responsibilities, but they are deeply attracted to each other. Their relationship develops through short and intense meetings, giving them the feeling of escaping from their ordinary lives. However, their love is difficult and unstable. Distance, time, jealousy, frustration, and their inability to fully share a life together constantly create tension between them.
