A true to life drama about KC, a 17 yr old white girl from Norfolk, VA, who elopes with Eddie, her 33 yr old lover, to California seeking relief from an abusive stepfather and to follow her dreams of a better life. After arriving in California, KC s dream quickly becomes a nightmare when she catches Eddie cheating on her, and soon after leaving him discovers that she s pregnant. Desperate and lonely, she turns to local pimps for shelter and protection. It s a move that will haunt her for the rest of her life.Forced into a life of prostitution to survive, KC bears several children by different men, which are quickly taken away from her by the authorities. Determined to re-build her fractured family, KC battles to regain custody of her kids while she watches them grow into teens from the sidelines of her desolate life.
