Arrested Memory
Following a disastrous sting operation that claims the lives of his entire team, superstar Taipei police detective Lee is consumed by intense guilt and subsequently diagnosed with early-onset dementia. Desperate to keep his deteriorating cognitive state a secret, he accepts a transfer to a quiet, rural police station but is immediately assigned to a high-stakes investigation involving the kidnapping of an influential Japanese tycoon's son. During a chaotic, multi-pronged ransom exchange, Lee's fading memory fails completely, causing him to unintentionally wander off into the Taipei night with a bag containing millions of dollars in cash. Completely oblivious to the money's origin or where it belongs, the absent-minded officer inadvertently triggers a frantic, city-wide pursuit by incompetent local police forces, desperate kidnappers, and ruthless yakuza syndicates. Relying entirely on pure investigative instinct, deep-rooted muscle memory, and an innate drive to protect the innocent, the put-upon protagonist must navigate a nocturnal odyssey of disordered identities, absurd brawls, and unexpected twists to crack the case before his memory vanishes completely.
