Six months after the flood, the army is investigating the causes. The expert Berg replaces the previous one expecting to find what happened to the town. Further, there is still the mystery of the disappearance of the police officers. Most of the population has moved to other places, but some of them are waiting for their beloved ones. Adele is pregnant, although she has tried to abort the child whose father is Justin. A new "returned" has come, Audrey, and Lucy brings her to stay with Claire and Camille that are hidden in a house. Toni has also returned, and Jerome needs to explain to a military officer why he said that Toni was dead. Victor asks Julie to stay with him and suddenly his mother returns.
Episode 2
Milan

The father of Serge and Toni, Milan, returns from the world of the dead and meets Serge. It takes time for Serge to disclose to him that both are dead. Meanwhile, Julie learns that Victor's name is actually Louis, and his mother does not want him to draw, and they have a friction. Julie talks to Madame Costa to know the reason, but the woman does not reveal anything. Sandrine and Yan Sabatini return to town since a military in charge of the investigation summoned them to clarify the return of their daughter Audrey Sabatini. However, she has gone missing, and the soldiers are looking for her in the woods. They do not find her but find something else in the woods. Sandrine and Yan go to the Helping Hand and are welcomed by Pierre. Berg continues to investigate what might have happened to the dam. Lena discovers what her father is doing during these months. Audrey sees her friend Esteban on the street and calls him. They leave Claire's house and Camille follows them. They discover where the bus ended its journey and a memorial to all the thirty-eight deaths. Claire tries to find them but is surrounded by the returned. Adele is not interested in her baby, who is in the ICU. But Simon asks Chloe to treat the baby and she goes to the hospital.
Episode 3
Morgane

Thirty-five years ago, Lucy is in love with Morgane. They leave home during a stormy night and see the old dam collapsing. Then they see the flooded town with Madame Costa, Victor's mother and her two children and Milan, who calls her. On the present days, Morgane returns with others dead people. At the morgue, the army brings twenty-one police officers, all of them shot dead and tied to the trees six months ago. However, one police officer is missing. Berg finds a huge and deep hole, and the soldiers are unsuccessfully trying to reach its bottom. Jerome visits the Helping Hand to look for Lena and sees Sandrine and Yan, who are in denial that Audrey has returned. Lena is at Serge's house and Milan demands that Serge takes her to the clearing and execute her. Serge asks Lena to leave the place, but she wants to know where Camille is and does not listen to him. Camille is aggressive with Claire and Esteban wants to see his parents, despite the warning that they committed suicide. Lucy is now with Morgane and asks Simon to bring the baby to them. Adele comes back home with her baby and after a period of ignoring him, her motherhood instinct prevails. Chloe calls the baby Nathan and sings the song that Simon used to sing to her, and Adele feels that she is seeing Simon. Julie is in conflict with Victor's mother and decides to leave the house. Claire finds that Esteban has left her house and Camille goes after him. She goes with Virgil to Esteban's house, and they find him. Pierre is keeping Toni prisoner expecting him to say where the returned are hidden.
Episode 4
Virgil

Thirty-five years ago, Virgil was a small-time thief in town that was expelled home by his father and captured by Milan, who was a kind of vigilante, and his men. Later Virgil was released by Serge, but he was murdered by Milan, when he tried to escape through the woods. Adele's baby disappears and she calls the police; however, Alcide tells her that based on the statement of Chloe and the doctor, they believe Adele is the responsible. Serge locks Milan in an underground compartment in his house; when he returns, Serge shoots him again. Lena needs to be treated, and Claire goes to a house to seek out bandages and medicine. She stumbles upon the man that brought her home when she was attacked by the Returned. Julie goes to the former house of Victor and learns from a neighbor that the boy was considered evil by the hamlet and blamed for the collapse of the dam. Later, Berg and Jerome also visit Victor's house. Lucy goes to Serge's house to take care of Milan. Meanwhile, Simon returns the baby to Adele. Serge releases Toni at the Helping Hand.

Madame Costa

Thirty-five years ago, three months after the burst of the dam, Mrs. Costa meets Louis at home, and he is drawing her dog Titus and Mrs. Costa laying down on the floor. People are scared with Louis since he has drawn the burst of the dam before the event happened. Soon Mrs. Costas learns the meaning of his drawing. Nowadays, Louis has a nightmare with Julie and asks Mrs. Costas to go with him to look for her. They go to her house and Louis says that they shall wait for her since she will return home. Meanwhile, Julie visits Mr. Lewanski at the hospital and the gentle nurse Ophélie explains that he has been in a coma for six months due to a head injury and had no visitor. She also gives shelter to Lucy in a wing that is shut off. Adele, Justin, Chloe and the baby Nathan looks for shelter with Father Jean-François that protects them from the police. The Father baptizes Nathan. Julie and Morgane are looking for the baby. Lena learns that Camille is seeing Virgil. Audrey arrives at Jerome's house and meets him with Berg that is helping with his investigation. She asks Jerome to inform her mother Sabrine and tells them the whereabouts of Claire, Lena and Camille. Jerome goes to the Helping Hand and informs Sabrine where Audrey is, but she betrays her daughter and tells Pierre and his men where Audrey is. Yan is wounded but Pierre does not take him to the hospital. Esteban, who is mute and weird, leaves Claire's house and joins the others. Toni and Serge receive the visit of several women that Serge killed in the tunnel. Lucy tells the scared Alcide that she wants to retrieve the baby and Simon and says that they did not kill the police officers.
Episode 6
Esther

Ten years ago, Esther leaves The Lake Pub and when she is ready to cross the tunnel, Louis stops her and asks her not to cross the tunnel. Suddenly, Serge attacks and kills her. Nowadays, Toni tells Serge that he knew Esther from the pub, and they should take her home to her parents. When they find her building, it seems to be empty, and she returns through the tunnel where she died. Toni demands that Serge asks her to forgive him. Jerome and Berg are crossing the woods looking for Jerome's family and they see another hole. Then they see one Returned and follow him. Virgil meets Camille at her room, and Claire finds him and tries to defend her daughter. The soldiers find the decomposed corpse of Thomas in the woods. Julie sees Mr. Lewanski and when she talks about his son Louis, he has a heart attack. When he recovers, she learns that Louis was an adopted son. Adele decides to go to the police with Nathan to show that he is fine, and leaves Chloe and Simon at home. Lucy and her two friends arrive at Adele's apartment and try to convince Simon to return with them, but he refuses. Frederic and Lucho find Mrs. Costa and Louis at Julie's apartment, and Lucho shoots her. Then he commits suicide jumping off the window. Sandrine is with Yan at the Helping Hand, and sees that Pierre is torturing Audrey. Jerome and Berg follow the man and see he meets with Virgil and other Returned. Adele asks to see Thomas' body at the morgue, and he tells her that Simon killed him. The divers find Milan at the bottom of the lake and take him to the hospital. Lena leaves the house to look for her father; she finds him near the house and brings him home. When they decide to leave the house, they are under siege of the Returned.
Episode 7
Etienne

Thirty-five years ago, and ten months after the burst of the dam, Milan gathers a group of grieving residents of the sect "The Circle" in a clearing in the woods and a man named Etienne kills them all. Milan kills Etienne. Pierre kills Milan but is afraid to commit suicide and flees. Louis watches everything. Nowadays, Pierre and Frederik are discussing about Victor's abilities, but he is called to see Sandrine in the basement. She asks him to release Audrey, but he refuses. Lucy asks Virgil to bring Camille with them, but she refuses to leave her family. Then the horde of Returned leaves the place and Jerome, Claire, Lena and Camille stumble upon the soldiers that are exploring that area. Julie brings the Returned through the woods; when a helicopter passes by, they disperse, and Berg brings Etienne home. Etienne is the designer of the dam and father of Berg, who recalls the day that Victor arrived and told them that the dam would collapse in the future with many casualties. Adele wants Nathan back, but the doctor and the soldiers do not deliver him to her. Meanwhile, Simon and Chloe are looking for the baby. Mr. Lewanski dies, and Mrs. Costa is brought dead to the hospital, but she revives and tells Julie that Victor was at the Helping Hand the last time she saw him. Jerome and his family are arrested in the same room where Adele is, and soon Chloe arrives and says that Simon is waiting for them outside. The commandant in charge of the investigation is intrigued by Milan and Camille, who were declared dead years ago. Julie goes to the Helping Hand looking for Victor and Pierre and Frederik arrest her in the basement with Audrey and Sandrine. However, Adele stays on the street to look for Nathan and asks Jerome to take care of Chloe.
Episode 8
Les Revenants

Thirty-six years ago, Lucy arrived at The Lake Pub saying that she is looking for someone and asked for a job to Milan, but he says that she is unnecessary. Alcide abducts the baby and delivers to Lucy, but she says that it is too late since the Returned have dispersed. The military believe Adele has kidnapped the baby, Jerome brings his family and Chloe to his car to leave the town and Camille asks him to stay since she has bruises in her body. Berg and Etienne meet Victor, who tells them that Julie is in danger. Audrey notes that her mother died and has a surprising action. When Julie sees, she calls Pierre's men. Jerome is fleeing through a secondary road and is intercepted by Frederik. He shoots and kills Camille, and Claire shoots him too. Adele and Simon are unsuccessfully looking for Nathan. They walk through the woods until they reach a cave where Lucy might be. The commandant talks to Father Jean-François, who confirms that the dead are returning but without any intention to harm the living. Further, he suggests the commandant to let them go. Meanwhile, the soldiers capture a horde of Returned. Jerome and his family summon the Returned and Virgil revives Camille; however, she has to follow him now. Pierre loses his leadership since people do not thrust him anymore. The commandant lets the prisoners go and remove the blockage from the roads. Lucy recovers her leadership after Alcide delivers the baby to her. Berg, Etienne and Victor arrive at the Helping Hand looking for Julie and the boy finds her in the basement. All the Returned join together and follow Lucy. Only Julie and Victor flee, but Lucy meets them and asks him to go with her for the safety of Julie. Pierre meets Milan at The Lake Pub and commits suicide. Adele and Simon reach the other side of the cave and Julie asks Lucy to stay with Victor.
