Episode 1
Thu, Sep 26, 201923 mins
With the Janet and Derek created other residents in place, Eleanor, on the spur of the moment taking over the architect role in Michael's panic, Michael, Tahani and Jason await the four new recently deceased human arrivals to the neighborhood. Tahani has quickly discovered that Shawn has not chosen the worst of the bad, but rather the ones that will cause them the most grief, the reason he has chosen Simone i.e. as a foil for Chidi. Eleanor however believes that Simone is a known, and as such they may know the right buttons to push with her. It not quite being the case, Eleanor has to decide if she will take the chance in sacrificing her hoped happiness with Chidi to bring Chidi and Simone together in perhaps he being able to touch her soul like he did on Earth, despite neither Chidi or Simone having any recollection of their past time together. They also can't quite figure out one of Shawn's other choices, a wet noodle named Linda Johansson, whose purpose seems to be to bore everyone to death. Meanwhile, Derek, who is supposed to stay hidden at Mindy's, can't help but make appearances in the neighborhood if only to stand up to Jason in his own "love" for Janet.

Episode 2
Thu, Oct 3, 201922 mins
The gang decides that the person on who they should focus their energies is Brent, the type of person who believes the world revolves around him. The tack Eleanor believes may work is to show him what good things others have done, which may place his less than good things in perspective. When that doesn't work, they move to Plan B, which is a playbook out of the Bad Place. And with Chidi now chosen as the fourth human in the experiment, Eleanor makes the painful decision to bring him and Simone together, she still at the mindset of believing what is happening is all in her mind and, thus, with no consequence of her actions in that they are not real. Through it all, the thought of Eleanor just being a simple girl from Arizona who couldn't even manage her own life starts to creep into the thoughts of those in the know about the experiment. Meanwhile, Janet gives Jason two pieces of bad news.

Episode 3
Thu, Oct 10, 201922 mins
Eleanor and Michael believe their ace in the hole, especially in dealing with Brent, is Chidi, whose academic ethical center should be able to get through to anyone. However, they find that Chidi is so relaxed, unlike they've ever seen him, so much so not to care what anyone else thinks or does, including Brent. They think they know what is causing Chidi's relaxed mentality, and take a play out of the Bad Place playbook to get back the Chidi they need, that play requiring the assistance of one of their own who is generally not of much help: Jason. Meanwhile, Tahani wants to befriend John by bringing him into her world of the life of the rich and famous, a life and her he had outwardly criticized on Earth on social media but which she believes he secretly wanted to be a part of, the reason for his criticisms. That may be the case, but whether the tactic will get him to the point of listening to everything she has to tell him about becoming a "better" person is the question.

Episode 4
Thu, Oct 17, 201922 mins
It's been three weeks since the last time Eleanor and the gang have had a proverbial win with their four human subjects. Not knowing the problem and about ready to regroup to figure out what's going on, they receive an unexpected visitor mysteriously cloaked arriving via handcar on the railroad track. Their visitor has information which may answer their question as to the streak of failures. Taking that information with a grain of salt considering the source, although much of that information which is corroborated by Michael, Eleanor, Tahani and Jason have to decide what to do in the absence of not knowing the definitive truth. One option would sacrifice Michael in the long term, he who Eleanor doesn't know if she can trust anymore anyway in his corroborating that information. Another option is to meet with the Judge to reboot the project, which would have them start again from scratch losing all the progress they've made with the four humans they've been given. A third option may end up presenting itself.

Episode 5
Thu, Oct 24, 201922 mins
Janet being held hostage at the Bad Place is at the center of everything that is happening. Michael, with a rough outline of a plan, and Jason are on their way to the Bad Place to rescue her, no one at the Bad Place knowing that Michael, Jason and the others have uncovered Bad Janet's deception, she who Eleanor and Tahani have confined. Michael's plan is only complicated by, discovering on their arrival, Vicky's latest torture project. Back at the neighborhood, Eleanor and Tahani have to keep it running in the absence of the real Janet, which means keeping the four humans preoccupied away from the neighborhood without realizing why they've been sent away. While Eleanor and Tahani have their specific roles, they have to bring in Derek in to take care of his and Janet's "babies" in the neighborhood, which may be easier said than done for Derek. In the process, Tahani questions not only her utility with her task, but her utility as a truly contributing person to societal good.

Episode 6
Thu, Oct 31, 201922 mins
It's past six months into the experiment - just over half way through - and Eleanor, Michael, Tahani and Jason had the greatest success so far with the four humans on a just taken ski trip, that success which they feel is a harbinger of the positive end result. Bad Janet has been imprisoned in Janet's void for almost as long - since she was discovered masquerading as Janet - and Michael has come to visit her to tell her the story of the four humans since the ski trip, after which Michael will be getting rid of her. He needs to tell her the story before this final act between the two of them. That story revolves around the downward turn in the experiment with Brent having written a novel which he wanted Simone to extol the greatness of as moderator of an event to launch the book. The problem was that the novel, if one could call it that, is arguably the most narcissistic, misogynistic, mean and poorly written work ever, Simone who has a tendency to want to call especially Brent out on behaviors and attitudes which she doesn't believe are good, but which he only thinks are his greatness. This problem ended up not only being confined to the two of them but spiraled out in issues with the others. Michael's story to Bad Janet has a moral above all the on the surface issues that have arisen since the ski trip.

Episode 7
Thu, Nov 7, 201922 mins
It's the last day of the experiment, the year end formal party at which Eleanor and Michael will tell the four humans the truth. Eleanor, Michael, Tahani, Jason and Janet are hopefully optimistic that enough has been done for the four humans to have garnered enough points to save humanity for all eternity. The one worry is and always has been Brent, who doesn't seem to have progressed at all, he oblivious to the fact of his bad ways. However, Tahani and Jason discover on this last day that the entire experiment is threatened by one of the others who has been a little more observant than Eleanor and Michael have noticed. The five have to decide what to do to neutralize this threat. They decide on what can only be considered a Hail Mary. What results from that action ultimately leads to ethical Chidi and unethical Brent seemingly having the last moves.

Episode 8
Thu, Nov 14, 201922 mins
The experiment has concluded with an unusual occurrence right at its end, leaving the gang uncertain as to the outcome. None of the humans are allowed at the verdict, meaning that Michael is the only one having actually worked on the experiment present at the ruling. And the four subjects - Chidi, Simone, John and Brent - are frozen in time until the sentencing. To keep their minds off of what is happening in the Judge's chambers, Tahani, on a comment made by Janet about each of their funerals on Earth, comes up with the idea that she, Eleanor, Jason, a frozen Chidi, and Janet, as an honorary human, should provide eulogies to each other, the eulogy they probably would have wanted the first time around. Meanwhile, Michael, regardless of the scores, is making one last argument to the Judge. What the Judge rules has an unintended consequence for humanity that the humans had not contemplated.

Episode 9
Thu, Nov 21, 201921 mins
With only one hour left to save humanity, Michael is about to resurrect Chidi upon who their entire hopes rest. In that resurrection, Michael wants to provide him with all his memories - in his Earthly life and many afterlives - in the correct order, which is not as easy as it may appear. If Michael is able to do this, the next question is if Chidi will be able to take all these memories and learn from them for arguably this biggest assignment, the issue being what has plagued him for his entire existence, namely his need to know the answer before taking any action.

Episode 10
Thu, Jan 9, 202021 mins
Janet has managed to hide the "clicky thingy" that will allow the Judge to eliminate humanity in one of the Janet voids, but it is only a matter of time before the Judge goes through all the voids, marblizes all the Janets in which she has gone through, eventually to find it. Eleanor and Michael believe they have thirty minutes to hold off the Judge for Chidi, as their idea guy, to come up with a plan to save humanity that both satisfies their sensibilities as well as gets Shawn's approval. Beyond the new confidence that Chidi seems now to possess, they ultimately face the problem of Shawn who may want to keep things the bad way they are, that is unless they can find the right button to push with him.

Episode 11
Thu, Jan 16, 202021 mins
With Tahani as a test subject, Michael and a still reluctant Shawn have brought in five Bad Place architects to train as the designers for scenarios to test humans under the new system. Eleanor, Chidi and Jason have been given the task to go through the files of all the humans in the Bad Place to choose the first one thousand to take the test, Chidi figuring they needing to choose the best of the best to ace the test to show that the new system is indeed fair with humans actually given a chance to enter the Good Place. A last minute replacement as one of the five to be trained, and Eleanor, Chidi and Jason coming to the realization that they have access to their own files leads to unexpected consequences for Michael, who questions his place in the new system, and Chidi, who, under the assumption that he and Eleanor will indeed end up in the same place for eternity, questions whether what he and Eleanor are currently going through is just a passing phase instead of the start of forever and ever.

Episode 12
Thu, Jan 23, 202022 mins
Eleanor, Chidi, Tahani, Jason, Janet and Michael have just arrived at the Good Place, and although she's never been, Janet, the one who should know, knows that it is indeed the Good Place and not yet another joke by the powers of the afterlife. While the humans and Janet feel like they're home, Michael, as a demon fundamental to his being, isn't sure, as the first demon to enter, if he will be accepted. While Michael finds he has other problems with which to worry as he speaks to the Good Place architects, the humans and Janet explore all that the Good Place has to offer in a party geared to each other their individual desires, with Chidi wanting to speak to the one philosopher he has been told actually made it into the Good Place, Hypatia. Through Hypatia, or Patty as she is now calling herself, the humans and Janet learn of the worst kept dirty secret among those at the Good Place.

Episode 13
Thu, Jan 30, 202053 mins
Most things with the new set up in the afterlife are running relatively smoothly. The Committee, presided over by the Judge, and which contains beings from opposing sides, such as Michael and Chidi on one side and Shawn and Vicky on the other, provides that oversight. Deceased humans are being tested with many now being admitted to the Good Place. And all of Eleanor, Chidi, Tahani, Jason, Michael and Janet are generally happy with each successive Bearimy. The primary questions for eternity are how to deal with seemingly contradictory acts between one person's happiness versus another's, and Michael's place in eternity as a non-human who now strives for human experiences and emotions.
