Undercover operative Tom Keen joins forces with Susan "Scottie" Hargrave, the brilliant and cunning chief of Grey Matters, a covert mercenary organization that solves problems governments don't dare touch. While on the hunt for his wife's attacker, Tom secretly discovered that Scottie is actually his biological mother, which drew him closer to her. Tom Keen is contacted by someone who wants to meet with him about his father who was killed recently. But the person he meets is his father who tells someone tried to kill him but he managed to evade the hit. He tells Tom that his mother, Scotty Hargrave will ask him to work for her and that he should accept her offer. And she tells him that they need to rescue a CIA agent who along with her son was captured by a rogue agent. They manage to rescue both of them but the agent is unaware they rescued her son. The agent was tortured by her captor so they bring her to a doctor and she says she needs to go but they tell her to rest. Later they discover what her captor did to her and she disappears so try to find her.
