Budding entrepreneurs, inventors, and small businessmen (and -women) pitch their ideas to the five "dragons"--real-life business leaders and millionaires, with real cash to invest in the companies they feel will make it. Each 'contestant' must convince the 'dragons' to part with thousands of pounds to make their dreams a reality.

Set in the high-octane environment of a glamorous and bustling restaurant, all the action is set against the backdrop of the drama of a full working kitchen staffed by some of the best chefs in the country. Over the course of the show Gordon and his brigade prepare a three-course meal for diners who all share Gordon's passion for food. Gordon launches his campaign to 'Get Women Back in the Kitchen' and puts his reputation on the line in 'Recipe Challenge' when he invites a member of the public to pitch their recipe against his. Up and coming cooks and chefs from around the UK fight to earn a job in one of Gordon's restaurant kitchens: every week two hopefuls help Gordon's brigade prepare dinner in the restaurant.

American fans of the British royal family are taken to London for a royal wedding-themed tour, in anticipation of Prince William and Kate Middleton's wedding.

A good review by London Times restaurant critic Giles Coren can add $1 million to a restaurant's business. He not only looks for the standards of good food, good service and nice atmosphere, but more importantly to him what he considers an exceptional dining experience, whether it be in a five-star establishment or a hole-in-the-wall. Those exceptional experiences generally mean living up to and exceeding what the restaurants bill themselves to be. He goes to North America in search of those exceptional experiences, he writing that "million dollar" review for one restaurant in each city he visits. Because he can't eat at every restaurant in each city he visits, he gets his trusty research assistant Julia Pileggi to narrow the field to a short list of five, those five where he dines in deciding which restaurant gets his review.

Follows sixteen chefs, eight Brits versus eight Americans, as they race across the United States from Los Angeles to New York City in hopes of winning the $100,000 prize. Throughout the journey the chefs are accompanied by Richard Corrigan (Masterchef), who serves as a mentor and judge, and host Claire Robinson. With no money and minimal resources, the chefs must rely on more than their cooking skills. Resourcefulness, ingenuity, leadership and finesse will be just as important on their 3,000 mile adventure.

Eight British women are sent to Beverly Hills, the plastic surgery capitol of the world, to reinvent themselves and begin new lives.
