Hailing from a family of renowned calligraphers, high school student Pu Yi Yong performs terribly in his studies, is accused of bullying the star student Cao Guang Yan and is still hesitant to open up about his dreams to his dad. His prowess in calligraphy is discovered by his teachers, who encourage him to enter an upcoming contest. On the way to the contest with his grandfather and father, the bus gets into a fatal accident, changing Yi Yong's future. He wakes up after almost two years in a coma and discovers that his dad has passed away and that his grandfather is still unconscious. Both Yi Yong and his mother slowly adjust themselves to their new life.
