Reed assigns Stanley the top secret task of delivering $30,000 to a defector to purchase a newly-invented (and strategically critical) Power Paralysis device. Endangered by enemy agents, the defector manages to conceal the device in a book of matches and slip it discreetly into Stanley's coat pocket. Unaware that he has the precious device on his person, Stanley subsequently finds that he and Hal Walters are also in serious danger from the enemy agents, who will stop at nothing to procure the device.

Mr. Big Curtsies Out

Determined to break up a major crime syndicate by capturing the reclusive and elusive "Mr. Big," Reed assigns Stanley to the case. Mr. Terrific is able to locate the mysterious crime boss and discovers that "he" is actually an attractive blonde woman. Before the government can act on the information, "Mr. Big" and her henchmen abduct Stanley, Hal, Reed, and Trent, and they attempt to extract information concerning "that guy with the goggles" who was able to track them down. Stanley accidentally escapes and attempts to retrieve his Power Pills, but his efforts are hindered by a determined thug and his own sneeze-inducing head cold.

One of Air Force One's landing wheels gets stuck in the "up" position during a cross-country flight, putting the President's safety in jeopardy. Mr. Terrific could easily make the necessary repair, but the situation takes on increasing urgency when Stanley's power pills mysteriously stop working. Reed, Trent, and a government scientist scramble to identify the problem with the pills, but Stanley's continued efforts to fly eventually get him confined to a psychiatric ward. Reed and Trent must locate and free the straitjacketed Stanley and administer a properly formulated pill before the President's plane runs out of fuel.

Stanley must act quickly when he realizes that Thompson's early return to the gym will result in discovery that Reed and Trent are there searching for the counterfeiting press.

Convicted murderer and former circus knife-thrower Herman Von Brock escapes from prison and vows to kill Harley Trent, who had prosecuted his case years earlier as an Assistant DA. Over Trent's strenuous objections, Reed assigns Stanley to serve as a bodyguard, but the killer is relentless and ultimately manages to abduct Trent from Stanley's service station. When the abduction is discovered, Reed and Stanley have only seconds to prevent Von Brock from killing Trent with the same knife he had previously used to murder his wife.

Unable to locate the McCabe family's prolific but well-concealed still, Reed assigns Stanley to infiltrate the family by courting 18-year-old Jenny May McCabe. Jenny May decides she would rather marry Hal, and he seems destined for forced matrimony. Stanley, Reed, and Trent must prevent the nuptials while simultaneously locating the elusive still.

An impostor learns of Stanley's identity and his function as Mr. Terrific when he infiltrates a secret demonstration of the Power Pill for a select group of international scientists. He and other enemy agents abduct Stanley and circumstantial evidence makes it appear that Stanley may actually be willing to join them in return for $50,000. Stanley has an opportunity to demonstrate his loyalty when the agents get the upper hand on Reed and Trent, and Reed takes a chance on giving Stanley a Power Pill he has concealed in his pocket.

Stanley Goes to the Dentist

A sinister-looking dentist named Dr. Travis seems to be extracting U. S. Government secrets from heretofore-reliable agents. Powered-up Stanley goes undercover to investigate and accidentally discovers that Travis's method consists of implanting a tiny radio transmitter in each agent's tooth. After Stanley's transmitter malfunctions, Travis and his compatriots abduct him in a desperate effort to avoid discovery. When Reed and Trent are themselves captured attempting to rescue Stanley, the trio's lone chance for escape consists of the hope that Reed can somehow slip Stanley a Power Pill while in full view of their captors.

Stanley the Track Star

Stanley is assigned to try out for the squad and attempt to arouse the interest of the perpetrators in the hope that they will lead him to Roberts before the meet begins. The attempt is successful and Stanley is able to quickly learn Roberts' whereabouts, but hopes for the track star's prompt return are complicated when Stanley accidentally tears his reversible flying jacket.

When a government code book is stolen, an anonymous phone call discloses the thieves are performers in a recently-arrived circus. Stanley's powers enable him to obtain a position with the show and befriend Teresa, one of the trapeze artists. Stanley is able to learn that the code book thieves are Bojo the Strongman and Teresa's partners, the two Flying Sylvester Brothers. Before Stanley can act on the information, the three perpetrators learn he is a government agent and it is likely Teresa is an informer. The three therefore decide to arrange "accidents" for both Stanley and Teresa.

The Sultan Has Five Wives

On a visit to the U. S., the self-assured Sultan of oil-rich Ramsar declines Secret Service protection for himself or his five wives, unaware that he is the target of an abduction plot by enemy agents. Reed assigns Stanley to discreetly protect the Sultan and his coterie by posing as his social secretary. Stanley lacks even rudimentary secretarial skills and is quickly dismissed from the position, but he must spring quickly into action when the hostile foreign nationals manage to kidnap the Sultan from a local hospital.
