But this gets Wilbur in all kinds of trouble because Mister Ed won't talk to anyone else, so Carol (Connie Hines), Wilbur's wife, thinks that Wilbur loves Mister Ed more then he loves her, because he spends so much time with Mister Ed. Episode 1

Ed the Counterspy

Sun, Sep 12, 196530 mins

Ed and Wilbur channel James Bond in this surrealistic episode. While riding, the duo notice a spy ring dropping information, beginning with a lovely lady rider on a brown mare. Coming back another day, they try to distract the lady, so Ed can get information on the ring from the lady's horse. Wilbur is captured after a "sword fight" with a branch versus a goon's litter stick. Tied up in a shack, Wilbur manages to pull Ed's tail with a rope, signaling a light that's picked up by a nearby Coast Guard vessel via Morse Code. The Coast Guard rescues Wilbur just before they are about to kill him and captures the spy ring with their microfilm of a new USAF plane. There is a B-plot about Wilbur's father-in-law visiting, but that's just so much fluff. The man doesn't think much about Wilbur. This could easily have been a "dream episode", as it's quite outlandish, even for "Mr. Ed".
