Episode 1

The Legend of Midas Mantee

Midas Mantee has been released from prison and wants revenge for being crippled and jailed. He has robbed several banks and gold shipments. The four Rangers are sent first to Portero where Erik hopes to infiltrate the gang but Reese blows the plan by saving the gold shipment. They pretend Reese arrests Erik and is transporting him to Laredo when Wrik escapes to enhance his outlaw reputation. At Val Verde where Mantee was originally arrested, he plans to use laughing gas to rob the bank. To further help Erik they plan for him to shoot Chad on main street with blanks but again Reese rides in town in time to spoil the effect. Mantee successfully robs the bank while Joe is captured when he tracks the robbers to their abandoned fort. Erik uses Mantee's beautiful assistant to get to Mantee but Mantee has doubts about Erik forcing him to kill Joe.

Episode 2

The Dance of the Laughing Death

Tohpay and his braves are fighting to take back the land from the Army and settlers. He has control over his people with a fire breathing idol and the help of John Garth to train his braves in how to fight using modern Army methods and weapons. In return Garth wants the hand of Tohpay's daughter Lohray in marriage. Tohpay's men have been attacking Army forts and capturing their weapons including cannons and Gatling guns. Parmalee sends the four Rangers after Tohpay in the Taos area where the Sheriff is under the control of Garth. The Rangers are captured by Tohpay but his reluctant daughter Lohray tries to help them. The men rely on some of Erik's treachery to turn the tide.

Episode 3

A Double Shot of Nepenthe

Dr. Duvain convinces Jake Murdock that his mind control drug can make people do any task against their will including murder. After a series of shots of the drug, a person can be given a command which they will obey. Jake Murdock wants Parmalee killed for revenge giving the job to Dr. Duvain. Dr. Duvain starts giving Reese a daily shot to build up its strength and tells him to obey the next order he is given after he is shown a five dollar gold piece. The shots change Reese's personality causing the other rangers to question his mental status. Secondly, other people give or show Reese gold pieces causing him to follow some strange orders adding to their concern. Chad and Parmalee realize Reese needs help but can they determine what to do before Reese kills Parmalee.

Coup de Grace

Juan Morales is a Mexican rebel wanted by the French forces in Mexico given sanctuary by the federal government under the protection of the four Rangers. Due to their carelessness, he is kidnapped and returned to Mexico for a reward. The upset Parmalee orders the four Rangers to go to Mexico to obtain his return with the aid of the rebels. Their contact is Erik's beautiful friend Carmella Alveras. Juan is being held in a prison waiting to be executed by firing squad. They devise a plan for the Rangers to sneak into the prison and change the bullets for blanks but the plan is foiled. Plan B has the Rangers go undercover to break Juan out of prison but Reese is not happy with his disguise - as a woman.

The Land Slickers

The Rangers are on stake out hoping to stop a bank robbery. They kill the robbers except for Wayne Emerson who they capture resulting in a big reward for the Rangers. Reese's enlistment in the Rangers is up the next day. He spends all of what is left after paying his debts on a parcel of Texas land from Conrad and Sally Fletcher who are really con artists. When they inspect the land, the Rangers find it is covered with water containing deadly alkali. Erik suspecting Reese might have been fleeced has traveled with the Fletchers posing as a Duke wanting to buy land. After hearing what happened to Reese, the other Rangers lock Reese with Emerson to allow Erik time to get Reese's money back and catch the Fletchers breaking the law - but not without several miscues.

Finnegan

A stage coach passenger recognizes the voice of Tom Fox from Oklahoma who robbed the stage and killed the man riding shotgun. Parmalee sends Reese and Chad to Dry Wells to confer with the sheriff there as it is the one place untouched by outlaws. They find him missing with a new sheriff in his place plus several known outlaws wanted in Oklahoma but not Texas. They discover a man, Finnegan, appears to be running an eastern style crime gang. After Reese appears to have killed Fox, Parmalee sends Erik and Joe in undercover as a pair of outlaws from Arizona to join Finnegan's gang. Finnegan decides to kill Reese who was knocked out by Erik to stop a fight. Joe and Erik plot to save Reese and capture several of the men in a trap. However, when the real outlaws from Arizona arrive in Dry Wells, Chad, Erik, and Joe are taken prisoner and put in a mine set to explode while Reese is in Laredo playing dead - supposedly.

Any Way the Wind Blows

Erik is investigating a series of bank robberies. When he finds that a circus is visiting each town when a bank is robbed, he decides to join the circus as a magician to find some clues. The female animal trainer Eve is suspicious of Erik but the circus owner Edmond Tolliver decides to hire him to keep Erik close. Erik notices that Tolliver moves to each city via hot air balloon as part of the circus attraction but no sign of the money can be found and the thieves generally break into the banks via the roof. Parmalee sends the other three Rangers to help. Their appearance does not stop the robberies and they are stumped as well. Eve overhears Chad and Erik talking so Tolliver decides to change their procedure. He keeps Chad with him as an alibi, Erik shot, and Joe with Reese stake out the wrong bank. Erik, who faked his death, and Joe find some clues that allow them to turn the tables on the robbers - plus Chad and Reese.

The Sweet Gang

Reese and Erik with the aid of the sheriff try to deliver a payroll to a mine but the Sweet family ambushes them wounding the sheriff. Parmalee takes Chad and Joe with him to help Erik and Reese make the delivery. Erik decides to scout for a second pass into the mine but is captured by the Sweet family. Step-daughter Billie Lou takes a liking to Erik unlike the boys. To prevent the Sweets from killing him, Erik suggests they ask for a ransom and when that fails to use him as a hostage. Reese, using Erik's idea in his absence, suggests using a sick wagon to sneak the payroll past the bandits. Parmalee likes the idea but Reese who finds and outfits a sick wagon for the job contracts measles. Erik tells the Sweets the payroll will arrive in a sick wagon as Reese had laughed at the idea previously. The Sweets ambush the sick wagon taking the money as Parmalee tells them the money is infected with plague giving the brothers pause.

One Two Many Voices

Parmalee has learned that Emerson Whitby III is coming to play in a high stakes poker game and there is a plot to kidnap him on the stage to Laredo. The Rangers foil the kidnapping attempt while learning that Reese and Whitby have identical voices. Expecting another attempt they decide to have Reese take Whitby's place with Erik as his valet while Joe watches from a distance for the kidnappers. Chad guards Whitby at the hotel where he is hiding. Reese is kidnapped but the leader of the gang spots Reese's picture at Ranger headquarters. The kidnappers hatch a new plot to kidnap the real Whitby which succeeds. The Rangers recover Whitby but still need proof to arrest the person they believe to be the ringleader.

Road to San Remo

Traveling by stagecoach Joe Riley encounters a murderous yet illusive Indian Pete. Who was hired to kill fellow traveler young Gussie Smith. After safely reaching Laredo Gussie is told she has to wait a day or two for another stagecoach. Meanwhile Chad, Joe and Reese, after receiving their monthly paycheck of five dollars each, told by Capt Edward their in dept for other expenses. Head to the saloon for spirits, Chad however pools their money for a game of change and loses. They're soon hired by our young and very industrious Gussie to safely deliver her to her Uncle's ranch. But trouble from Indian Pete and an old enemy of Chad soon follows.

The Last of the Caesars: Absolutely

The Rangers are investigating several recent cases of people disappearing while others are left dead. Joe and Reese follow the tracks from the most recent kidnapping walking into a trap. They find themselves slaves of the Emperor Hannibal Rex who is recreating a Roman style empire in Texas aided by his man Brunning. Erik senses that most of the captives have a trade so he and Chad masquerade as a renown architect and sculptor from the East. Hannibal has them kidnapped to design his new residence and fill it with art. They of course take advantage of Joe and Reese as slaves with Joe moving up in status to gladiator. Erik is pestered by Hannibal's favorite queen but he realizes the consequences of playing with her but Chad doesn't. Chad's playtime ends with him hanging over a pit of snakes and the others watching.

A Prince of a Ranger

Prince Lazlo from the European Balkans has chosen Laredo as the site to sign a treaty with a Latin American country. He hopes to experience the frontier life style. After being shot at in Laredo, Parmalee is informed that there has been several attempts on his life while in the United States. Everyone notices that except for a beard and a birth mark the Prince and Chad could be identical twins. Parmalee decides to have Chad take the Prince's place for protection to which the Prince agrees rapidly as he will live as Chad - a Ranger. Chad soon finds the job to his liking as the Prince's betrothed is a beautiful woman who enjoys the attention of Chad whereas the Prince has largely ignored her. The people trying to kill the Prince deduce the switch putting the fake Chad in danger finally resulting in his kidnapping. Chad is forced to attend the treaty signing trying to delay the signing but soon runs out of delaying tactics.

Oh Careless Love

Parmalee, Chad, Joe, and Reese respond to a messenger that a wagon train is trapped in a valley by a large number of Indians. Parmalee realizes they are surrounded by too large a force to fight and he wants to maintain the peace. The Chief is willing to bargain but the brave Many Horses wants to go to battle plus marry the Chief's daughter Lost Bird. While Chad is sent to bring a Commisioner to make a treaty, Joe and Reese are sent to the Indian camp to keep the Indians talking. Many Horses challenges Reese in a heavy rock toss contest. When Reese wins by a large margin, Lost Bird changes her interests from Many Horses to Reese - her hero. Reese is oblivious but Joe realizes her interest and pushes Reese to unknowingly compete for her. Parmalee orders Reese to continue against his wishes until the Commissioner arrives. Reese does so until he sees a way out - Joe.

Episode 14

Leave It to Dixie

The Sam Dixie band is successfully holding up several banks in Texas and no one has been able to locate them. In Laredo the general store was robbed overnight while Reese was on duty. Parmalee assigns Reese to solve the matter while the other Rangers are to find the Sam Dixie gang. Reese stumbles onto a trail of flour taking him to Matt Dixie one of four orphans who capture Reese. They are hoping their criminal enterprises will impress Matt's cousin Sam Dixie so he well let them join his gang. Erik working undercover trails Matt hoping he will lead him to Sam after Matt talks to Molly, Sam's girlfriend. Chad and Joe are sent to protect a payroll for a logging camp. Matt leads Erik to his group, Reese, and eventually Sam. However, Sam and his men reject the boys causing them to help Reese who saved Midj's life. Their plan backfires leading to the capture of Reese and Erik. Sam plans to steal the payroll but after it is delivered. The rejected boys trail Sam and his men to the robbery with a few tricks of their own.

The Seventh Day

Rev. Egan Thomas is run out of Black River when Clay Morgan exposes his background as a felon to the townspeople. Morgan has one of his men try to kill Thomas outside of town but Joe kills the henchman telling Thomas to see Parmalee in Laredo. Parmalee knows Thomas and his background. After some thought Parmalee sends Erik and Chad to Black River posing as ministers asked there by Thomas. They raise funds for a church while also spying on the Morgan gang learning where they are hiding stolen silver. The people send Chad in the accompany of Joe to buy building materials for a new church. Morgan sends his gang to kill them and exposes Erik as a Ranger telling the people Chad and Joe are Rangers stealing their money. It looks like Erik may be left to his own wits.

Scourge of San Rosa

When Reese does not return from tracking Johnny Rhodes, Parmalee sends Chad and Joe after Rhodes to keep pressure on him while Erik and Parmalee go to Mexico to help with a gold shipment to the US via San Rosa. Due to a rattlesnake Reese is knocked out and left with Johnny Rhodes crippled horse while Rhodes escapes. Reese makes his way to San Rosa where he is mistaken for Johnny Rhodes due to the saddle on Rhodes' horse. Rhodes is to meet the McCord gang by San Rosa to steal the gold shipment. Having amnesia Reese assumes the role of Rhodes since the people tell him that is his name. He takes over the town and the affection of Mio who runs the cantina. Chad and Joe track Rhodes horse leading them to Reese where they learn what happened to Reese. They try to tell Reese who he is but end up captives of Mio who is protective of Reese. When the McCord gang arrives in San Rosa, one of the men kicks Reese bringing him out of the amnesia. All three Rangers end up tied up in the cantina waiting for the gold shipment and death. However, Mio cooks up some steaks and a way to keep her man Reese.

The Short, Happy Fatherhood of Reese Bennett

Capt Edward orders Chad, Joe and Erik to arrest Reese for being AWOL for more than week. Reese however has troubles of his own, shot in the rump by a young Indian boy, Black wing. Who claims that his father was killed by a gang of gunmen and now has no immediate family. Reese than flounders between leaving the boy with an orphanage and adopting him for his own. He than comes across the gang of gunman that murdered Black wing's father, and hold Reese for hostage. However Chad Joe and Erik to come to his rescue. Black wing is reunited with his grandfather, Flying Cloud.

The Bitter Yen of General Ti

Joe comes upon a gunfight over the Chinese girl Jem Sing. Gen. Shen Ti has brought her from China to marry him. Ti is starting a new opium business in Mexico and is hoping to capture the US market. Joe takes Jem Sing to Laredo as she wants to stay with him as his servant for saving her life. Ti learns she is with Joe in Laredo so he kidnaps them slightly wounding Parmalee. At their suggestion Parmalee decides that is is time for Erik and Chad to take a vacation in Mexico. They take the place of two mobsters coming in from San Francisco but Ti uncovers their ruse. He plans to behead all three Rangers to celebrate his wedding.

The Other Cheek

Parmalee sends Joe, Chad, and the ailing Reese to Grover's Bend to protect a pacifist group that happens to be sheep herders in cattle country. One of the cattlemen, Ed Garmes hires Aces Brady's gang to force the group out but has second thoughts because of his interest in Della Snilly. She is very attractive and takes Reese who has a bad back under her wing trying to convince him non-violence is the solution especially since he can't fight. When the threats to leave don't work, the thugs decide to become more violent. Joe and Chad start arresting the thugs one by one forcing the gang to try to take them out trapping them in the Sheriff's office. When Garmes tries to make a move on Della, she knocks him out and Reese's back clears up letting him return to his old self to help Joe and Chad.

Enemies and Brothers

Bart Cutler is captured by the Rangers but let his girl friend Liza Curtis escape. After he is captured, Cutler informs them he is really Frank Parmalee, the dead Civil War hero brother of Captain Ed Parmalee. The men decide to take Frank into Mexico where the Mexicali police take him as he is wanted for murder in Mexico. At the same time Frank's widow Dr. Jessica Boyd is in Laredo. The Rangers tell Parmalee the Indians killed Cutler but he receives a telegram saying Cutler escaped from the Mexican prison. Frank and his gang rob a bank but Frank is severely wounded. Captain Montoya confronts Parmalee about working with Cutler revealing to Parmalee who Cutler really is. Frank's girl friend Liza brings his "widow" Jessica to tend to Frank's wound. All of the Rangers including Parmalee track them to Frank and the gang. Frank makes a deal with his brother to turn over his gun and not kill Jessica if the other Rangers leave and Parmalee gives him a head start leaving. However, Frank showed his true colors of still loving Jessica to Liza while holding a hidden gun.

Hey Diddle Diddle

Cotton, Erik and Joe on the way back to Laredo are in a saloon when Lemuel Beamish enters late at night asking to learn to play poker and he will provide the drinks. The four play with Cotton being the big winner as Beamish finesses the cards. The next day he asks to ride with the Rangers but has a hard time keeping up. When his saddle breaks, Erik and Joe leave him with Cotton. Cotton and Beamish stop to spend the night in an abandoned fort. An Indian stabs Beamish to death but not before he asks Cotton to deliver his case along with a message to his niece arriving in Laredo the next day. Before delivering the case, Cotton is attacked again but rescued by Joe. He delivers the case to Milly Beamish who can't find what she expected in it. She questions Cotton who states there was a message but it was garbled. She asks Cotton to take her to the fort to pay her last respects to her uncle. After they leave, Erik, Joe, and Chad learn the money they won was counterfeit. Sensing trouble they follow Cotton to the fort where he and Milly are in trouble with Beamish's partners.

The Small Chance Ghost

Reese is on his way back to Laredo when a rain storm forces him to stop at Small Chance which is deserted. When he finds no one in the saloon, he helps himself but Kay Comstock arrives with a gun taking him for a thief while the town and saloon shake severely periodically. She tells him everyone left but her, the Sheriff, Old Charlie the telegraph operator, and Sgt. Durgom a drunk, as the town is haunted by poltergeists. Reese doesn't believe in ghosts and he hears gunfire. They investigate an abandoned mansion finding the Sheriff dead of a blow to the head. Upon returning to the bar, Sgt. Durgom and Old Charlie appear. When Reese and Old Charlie go to repair the telegraph line, Old Charlie is shot. The accidents Durgom and Kay stage to kill Reese fail so they resort to taking him prisoner. They tie him up in the mine with the large and strong but not so bright Monte who is mining gold for them. Kay wants to leave Reese and Monte in the mine to die. Reese must convince Monte they want him dead while Parmalee sends Erik to Small Chance to look for Reese who is late. Erik soon learns the truth but can he and Reese escape before they kill Erik and the mine collapses on Reese and Monte?

Episode 23

A Question of Guilt

John Bright Star was seen standing over the body of Mrs. Taggert who had befriended him when he was sick. The Rangers arrest him as he runs away but is unarmed. Initially refusing to say anything, Bright Star eventually states that the wounds on his face came from a mountain lion and not from Mrs. Taggert defending herself from the knife attack. A jury is empaneled which include Joe and Cotton. A short trial is held with everyone assuming an automatic guilty verdict. However, Joe is the lone holdout as most of the Rangers do not believe Bright Star is guilty. Parmalee sends Chad to look for more evidence. He finds some cat hair initially. A second search of the Taggert home sheds more light on events while the jury is slowly realizing there are more questions that need to be answered. Parmalee starts putting the details together for a Perry Mason style presentation on what really happened.

Episode 24

Like One of the Family

A railroad asks Parmalee to evict the Willingham family from their family home for a new track. Parmalee sends Reese to evict them but he is soon wrapped up in the eccentric life style of the family after which he is injured. When Alcott Willingham who sold the property learns about Reese, he complains to Parmalee. Chad is sent to complete the job and determine what happened to Reese but falls into the same trap. More complaints result in Joe going next finding an old friend, Noble Savage there who is Vita's model pulling Joe into the fold. Colonel Willingham has decided he will no longer meet with Parmalee or the railroad. He explains to the three Rangers that his son had signed over all his rights to the ranch when the family provided money to pay off his gambling debts. However, Vita Rose and the others are absent minded and she cannot remember where she put the document Alcott signed. Erik's arrival pushes them to look for the paper but time is running out as the railroad decides to send in their henchmen to move the family and burn the house.

Episode 25

Walk Softly

The captain assigns Joe, Cotton, and Chad to deliver a bottle of newly developed nitroglycerin to Fort Savage. They will be accompanied by the Professor who discovered it to keep this batch safe as a previous attempt ended in an explosion. Before they leave town, an attempt is made to steal the powerful explosive and on the way they are diverted to Flat Wells by a man saying the road is rough. Stopping for the night in the town of Flat Wells, the rangers are distracted by a diversion while the wagon is driven off after the Professor is shot and Chad is hung by his heels. The rangers take off in pursuit. Chad nearly catches the thief, only to have him slip by in disguise but on foot. He left them with the wagon and a jar of water. The rangers then realize they are dealing with a quick change artist. They track him down but he nearly outwits them by mimicking Cotton's voice to decoy them. However, Chad is able to swipe the canteen of explosives but Cotton has to make the catch of the day to save them all.

Split the Difference

Two men, a judge and hangman, are killed by Linda Little Trees. Parmalee learns both were invited to the reading of the will for Jake Ringo who was hung by them after a large robbery. Parmalee himself receives the same invitation to the reading which he attends with Erik and Chad. The meeting is at a house sitting on the USA Mexico border. Linda Little Trees and Smiley Hogg are on the Mexican side outside of the Rangers jurisdiction while Belle and Gypsy John are not wanted in Texas but elsewhere. The group is to split the money Ringo stole but the money does not arrive until the next morning by courier. If anyone dies before then, their share is split among those left thus pitting each of the outlaws against the others. One by one each of the outlaws is killed but the Rangers deduce that the person who set the trap must still be alive - Ringo. Their suspicions are true but the question is who is really Ringo's inside partner.
