An American animated series featuring the then-popular comedy troupe "The Three Stooges" (1922-1970) in an anthology of stories in various settings. The main acting cast consisted of the regular trio of the troupe in the 1960s ( Moe Howard, Larry Fine, and Joe DeRita), along with their friend Emil Sitka and the experienced voice actress Margaret Kerry. Edward Bernds was enlisted to both script and direct the series. Bends had previously directed the comedy team's films for Columbia Pictures from 1945 to 1952. The series included 156 short Stooge cartoons (under the supervision of Lee Orgel), and 40 live-action Stooge opening and closing sequences (under the supervision of Norman Maurer, Moe Howard's son-in-law).
