In this fantasy-competition hybrid series, internet personality Joey Graceffa is mysteriously drawn from era to era by various malevolent forces, each trapping him in their lairs-sprawling estates frozen in time and filled with dark secrets, puzzles, and dangerous monsters. Against his will, Joey is forced to invite other well-known internet personalities to these gatherings, where they must assume era-appropriate personas and wear period-specific clothing to gain entry. Together with his new captives, Joey embarks on a perilous journey to collect a series of magical items, each crucial to vanquishing the evil that controls the estate. With only one night to complete their mission before the evil slaughters them all, they must uncover the hidden histories behind each item. These items are guarded by fearsome creatures, intricate puzzles, and eerie characters, challenging them at every turn. However, their quest comes with a terrible cost. At the end of each episode, the evil demands a sacrifice-one of their own must meet a grisly fate, decided by a vote. The survivors must then continue to retrieve the next item, knowing the same deadly ritual awaits them. Will they manage to collect all the items in time to vanquish the evil? Or will they perish one by one, falling victim to the estate's dark curse? Only time will tell if they can truly Escape The Night.
