Holy Schitt, Schitt's Creek Landed Its First Emmy Nominations

The world might be on fire but there's at least one thing to smile about: Schitt's Creekis finally an Emmy nominee.

On Tuesday, July 16, The Good Place favorite D'Arcy Carden and The Masked Singer judge Ken Jeong announced the nominees for the 71st annual Primetime Emmy Awards. The beloved Canadian sitcom, which airs on Pop TV in the U.S., snagged not one but four nominations: Outstanding Comedy Series, Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series (Eugene Levy), Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series (Catherine O'Hara), and Outstanding Contemporary Costumes (for the episode "The Dress"). This is the first nomination for the show, which aired its fifth season early in 2019.

Dan Levy and Annie Murphy may have been snubbed -- give everyone on this show an Emmy, dammit -- but this is easily the best news of the week.
