Interview with the Vampire Season 3: Cast, Trailer, and Everything to Know About The Vampire Lestat

If you're thirsty for more Interview with the Vampire, there's good news: Season 3, premiering this summer, will focus on Sam Reid's Lestat as he embarks on a tour with his band, finally telling his side of the story through the power of rock music. The show is also rebranding as The Vampire Lestat, which happens to be the title of the second novel in Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles book series. (It's so Lestat to demand a full name change.)

Interview with the Vampire Season 3 latest news

It's going to be a hot Lestat summer. On Feb. 25, AMC confirmed that Interview with the Vampire Season 3 — or, as it's now known, The Vampire Lestat — will premiere in June.

And if you need something to hold you over until then, you can finally stream our favorite band's soon-to-be-hit single "Long Face" at your leisure.

The first full clip from The Vampire Lestat has a lot for fans to sink their teeth into: Lestat and Louis FaceTiming on an iPad, a reminder that they are both technically senior citizens; confirmation that Lestat is a Beyoncé fan; a glimpse at Lestat's new life in Montreal; and a humiliating side effect of Daniel Molloy's latest book: Armand may just have more in-universe fans than Lestat.

On Feb. 13, AMC released a new trailer with exciting news for fans of mess: Lestat and Louis are talking again.

The first extended look at The Vampire Lestat has everything: Lestat stomping around in boots that say "hate" on the sole of one shoe and "me" on the other, snippets of a new Lestat song, Louis and Lestat at divorce court, and more. Bang bang indeed.

Ready to go backstage with The Vampire Lestat? AMC dropped a teaser for Interview with the Vampire Season 3 at San Diego Comic-Con 2025, giving us a behind-the-scenes look at what Lestat is getting up to on tour: crowd surfing, playing the violin, wearing glitter. "Lestat's living a rock star life in its most hedonistic, authentic way," says Sam Reid. Now we're havin' fun.

The first teaser trailer for Interview with the Vampire Season 3 begins in rockumentary style, showing a glammed-up Lestat sitting down for an on-camera interview with Molloy. After Lestat seemingly chokes Daniel with his mind, the teaser segues into a preview of Lestat's new song, "Long Face."

AMC has also released the full song, "Long Face," with an official lyric video on YouTube. Lestat's Grammy campaign starts now.

Interview with the Vampire Season 3 cast

At New York Comic Con in October 2025, AMC announced five new additions to the ensemble, the most long-awaited of which was Sheila Atim as Akasha, an incredibly important figure from Anne Rice's book series. Lestat's bandmates were also announced: Noah Reid as Larry, Ryan Kattner as Salamander, Seamus Patterson as Alex, and Sarah Swire as TC. 

At San Diego Comic-Con in July, AMC confirmed the returns of Assad Zaman as Armand and Delainey Hayles as Claudia. 

Five new cast members were also announced: Jennifer Ehle as Lestat's mother, Gabriella (curiously changed from "Gabrielle," her name in the book); Christopher Heyerdahl as the ancient vampire Marius; Damien Atkins as Lestat's maker, Magnus; Ella Ballentine as groupie Baby Jenks; and Jeanine Serralles as Lestat's lawyer, Christine Claire. 

They join previously announced returning principal cast members Sam Reid as Lestat, Jacob Anderson as Louis, and Eric Bogosian as Daniel Molloy. 

Other characters named in the press release announcing the Season 3 renewal include the vampire Sam Barclay (Christopher Geary), Talamasca member Raglan James (Justin Kirk), Louis' Dubai-based doctor Fareed (Gopal Divan), and Lestat's former lover Nicolas de Lenfent (Joseph Potter).

Interview with the Vampire Season 3 release date

In February, AMC released another poster to announce that The Vampire Lestat will premiere in June.

At San Diego Comic-Con 2025, AMC unveiled another poster for Season 3, this time showing off the new title (The Vampire Lestat) and confirming that it will premiere in 2026.

In June 2025, AMC posted a very rock and roll photo to announce that production had begun on Interview with the Vampire Season 3.

Lestat himself, Sam Reid, also confirmed the news in a video posted to the show's social channels. "We're filming in Toronto," Reid said, when asked for details about the new season. "There's gonna be a lot of music, Daniel Hart is writing some beautiful songs, and I'm really looking forward to everybody hearing those, and unleashing rock star Lestat into the world." Amen!

What will Interview with the Vampire Season 3 be about?

As showrunner Rolin Jones has teased many times before, Interview with the Vampire Season 3 will give Lestat the opportunity to say his piece. The series has already pulled plot points from later books in Rice's series, including The Vampire Lestat — the second installment in The Vampire Chronicles, told from Lestat's perspective — and the third season will adapt one of the best arcs from that novel: rock star Lestat.

Per AMC's press release announcing the renewal, the third season is described as such: "In Season 3, resentful of the perfunctory portrayal in the trashy bestseller Interview With The Vampire, the Vampire Lestat sets his story straight in a way only the Vampire Lestat can — by starting a band and going on tour. Gabrielle. Nicolas. Magnus. Marius. Those Who Must Be Kept. They join Louis, Armand, Molloy, Sam, Raglan, Fareed, and others we can't tell you about yet on a sexy pilgrimage across space, time and trauma. No Auto-Tuning. No Trigger Warnings. All Feels Amplified."

In a statement, Jones offered "sincere apologies to the family and friends of actor Sam Reid, for the possession that continues to this day. Monsieur L extends his promise to return his body upon cancellation (may that evening never come.)"

Jones told TV Guide that he's most looking forward to the "dangerous and wild" shift the series will take on when Lestat steps into the spotlight. He mentioned composer Daniel Hart's excitement around developing Lestat's oeuvre, as well as Lestat's promise to Louis in the finale that he'd soon be going on tour — a step up from the single performance he gives in The Vampire Lestat. "It's not particularly satisfying, is it? For one concert? For just there to be one concert between two books?" Jones mused.

In the same interview, Jones teased what will become of the new vampire Daniel Molloy (Eric Bogosian) and Armand (Assad Zaman), his maker. "There's clearly going to be seeds between Armand and Daniel going forward," he promised, and referred to "The Devil's Minion," the beloved standalone chapter from Queen of the Damned that focuses on Daniel and Armand. "We will do our version of the 'Devil's Minion,' because it's a hotsh-- part that was written. We obviously have a different timeline and things. But we will honor that the way that we do it, which will feel spiritually right."

As for Bogosian's take on this new version of Daniel? "We talked a lot about the Amish ritual of rumspringa," Jones said. "Just see what happens if you just throw aside all your concerns and you get to go live your little rock and roll. I mean, it's fun to see what an old guy gets to do with vampirism, but also to find a little bit of what Luke [Brandon Field, who plays young Daniel] had at the beginning, when you're not as serious about yourself and self-important, now what do you do? We removed your little mortality issue."
