Euphoria is definitely not in high school anymore

Zendaya, Euphoria
Patrick Wymore/HBOIf you can even believe it, Euphoria Season 3 finally has a premiere date. The HBO drama's third season has been long delayed by 2023's Hollywood strikes, scheduling conflicts among the cast, and what sounds like a lot of behind-the-scenes drama. But new episodes are almost here, and now we have an action-packed trailer to speculate about.
While we wait for the premiere, we'll be here debating whether this f---ing play is about us and updating this post with as much information about Euphoria Season 3 as we can.

Sydney Sweeney, Euphoria
HBOEuphoria Season 3 will premiere on Sunday, April 12 at 9/8c.
The premiere date was announced in January, almost a year after HBO confirmed that production on Euphoria Season 3 had begun with the release of a first look photo of Zendaya's Rue. HBO shared the image on social media, followed by a short message: "Euphoria season 3 is in production."

Zendaya, Euphoria
Patrick Wymore/HBO"You wanna undo the evil you've done? Start by changing yourself," Ali (Colman Domingo) bluntly tells Rue (Zendaya) in the latest trailer for Euphoria Season 3. "I'm trying," Rue replies pitifully. How true that is remains to be seen, but if the trailer — which shows Rue swallowing bags of drugs, being interrogated by detectives about Mexico, and begging her mother to let her return home — is any indication, our girl still has a long way to go. As for the rest of the characters, Cassie (Sydney Sweeney) and Nate (Jacob Elordi) are married, but he's not thrilled that Maddie (Alexa Demie) has reentered their lives to help with Cassie's new OnlyFans hustle, while Jules (Hunter Schafer) is still meeting up with Cal Jacobs (the late Eric Dane). The Euphoria high school is no more, but the Euphoria teens (turned adults) are still getting into trouble.
In October 2025, Deadline reported that Euphoria Season 3 has added 18 (!) new cast members, with Natasha Lyonne, Danielle Deadwyler, and Eli Roth as the most high-profile additions. They'll be joined by Bella Podaras, Bill Bodner, Cailyn Rice, Colleen Camp, Gideon Adlon, Hemky Madera, Homer Gere, Jack Topalian, Jessica Blair Herman, Kwame Patterson, Madison Thompson, Matthew Willig, Rebecca Pidgeon, Sam Trammell, and Trisha Paytas.
In February 2025, Deadline confirmed that Sharon Stone has officially joined the cast of Season 3 in an undisclosed role. "There is little more exciting than going to work with this team of thrilling talent," Stone said in a statement. "From the genius of Sam Levinson to the raw sophistication of this profoundly moving cast and tight crew. I am honored to be Euphoric."
Earlier in February, Deadline announced that several new faces have joined the Season 3 cast, including Rosalía, Marshawn Lynch, and Kadeem Hardison. Other new cast members include Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Toby Wallace, Darrell Britt-Gibson, Priscilla Delgado, James Landry Hébert, and Anna Van Patten. Akinnuoye-Agbaje and Wallace will join as series regulars.
In a separate announcement made the same day, Variety reported that Dominic Fike was also confirmed to be reprising his role from Season 2.
Additionally, Season 2 cast members Martha Kelly and Chloe Cherry have been upped to series regulars, while Nika King, Austin Abrams, and Algee Smith have reportedly exited the cast ahead of Season 3.
Previously, HBO confirmed to Variety that most of the principal cast will return for Season 3, with Zendaya, Sydney Sweeney, Hunter Schafer, Alexa Demie, Jacob Elordi, Maude Apatow, and Eric Dane reprising their roles. Colman Domingo will return as a guest star.
In November 2024, Storm Reid announced that she will not be part of Euphoria Season 3. "Unfortunately, Gia's not returning to the third season, but I am so, so indebted to the cast and the crew of that show, to HBO," Reid told Rotten Tomatoes at the Governors Awards. "Euphoria's a really special thing and I'm so glad that that's a part of my legacy and that I was a part of such a cultural phenomenon."
Reports of behind-the-scenes drama plagued Euphoria during Season 2, much of it centering on a rumored feud between creator Sam Levinson and star Barbie Ferreira. In August 2022, Ferreira announced via Instagram that she won't be reprising her role as Kat in the show's third season, writing, "After four years of getting to embody the most special and enigmatic character Kat, I'm having to say a very teary-eyed goodbye. I hope many of you could see yourself in her like I did and that she brought you joy to see her journey into the character she is today. I put all my care and love into her and I hope you guys could feel it. Love you Katherine Hernandez."
In April, Ferreira addressed her exit from the series on the "Armchair Expert" podcast. She called the move a "mutual decision," saying, "I don't think there was a place for [Kat] to go." Ferreira added, "I don't know if it was going to do her justice, and I think both parties knew that. I really wanted to be able to not be the fat best friend. I don't want to play that, and I think they didn't want that either." She also denied rumors that she had walked off set during the second season.
Series regular Angus Cloud, who played Fez on the first two seasons, passed away on July 31, 2023.
The official logline for Season 3 is vague: "A group of childhood friends wrestle with the virtue of faith, the possibility of redemption, and the problem of evil."
It's been confirmed that the eight-episode third season will feature a five-year time jump that catches up with the characters post-high school. "It's important because there's only so much high school drama you can deal with," Zendaya told Entertainment Weekly's The Awardist podcast in 2024.
In August 2023, series creator Sam Levinson told Elle that he conceived the third season as a "film noir." Levinson added that the season will use Rue to "explore what it means to be an individual with principles in a corrupt world."
Euphoria Seasons 1 and 2 are now available to stream on Max.
