Chad "Ochocinco" Johnson Charged with Misdemeanor Battery

Chad "Ochocinco" Johnson has been charged with misdemeanor battery, springing from the August incident with his then wife Evelyn Lozada, TMZ.com reports.

In August, Johnson was arrested on domestic-violence charges after allegedly head-butting Lozada. Johnson was subsequently released by the Miami Dolphins because of the incident, and VH1 canceled their upcoming reality series Ev and Ocho.

Lozada filed for divorce days later, citing that their marriage of, at the time, six weeks was "irretrievably broken."

If convicted, Johnson faces up to a year in jail.
