November was mostly generous to our favorite shows. HBO announced that it's bringing back five series: Game of Thrones prequels House of the Dragon and A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, the Mark Ruffalo-led crime drama Task, Tim Robinson's conspiracy theory comedy The Chair Company, and Rachel Sennott's LA-set comedy I Love LA. Meanwhile, FX renewed Noah Hawley's Alien prequel Alien: Earth for Season 2, Hulu is bringing back The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives and All's Fair, Bravo is setting sail with new seasons of Below Deck and Below Deck Mediterranean, and Netflix gave a third season to Kristen Bell and Adam Brody's romantic comedy series Nobody Wants This.

But things got ugly in the second week of November. FX canceled its comedy English Teacher after two seasons, and Peacock decided not to gamble on another round of Poker Face, dropping the mystery drama after two seasons. (But creator Rian Johnson has an interesting plan to keep the show going; read below for details.)

Whether you're looking to celebrate your favorites or mourn the loss of something on your regular rotation, here are all the shows that were canceled or renewed in November.

TV show cancellations

  • Poker Face, Peacock: Rian Johnson's mystery series will not be solving more cases in a third season. Well, at least on Peacock. Johnson is shopping the series elsewhere, with a twist: Johnson wants Peter Dinklage to take over the lead role of Charlie from star Natasha Lyonne, who also executive produces the series and gave the idea her blessing. (Nov. 13, Deadline)
  • Dora, Paramount+: The animated series about the curious globetrotter Dora the Explorer has been canceled. Dora is expected to air its fourth season soon, but per Deadline, it's unclear what will happen to the fifth and final season, which "has been produced." (Nov. 12, Deadline)
  • Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Paramount+: Cancel-abunga, dude! The upcoming second season of the animated series will be its last as Paramount restructures under new owners Skydance. (Nov. 12, Deadline)
  • English Teacher, FX: The critically acclaimed comedy about high school teachers in Austin, Texas, has been canceled after two seasons. The show may have been flunked after allegations of sexual assault were made against creator and star Brian Jordan Alvarez between seasons. Alvarez has denied the allegations. (Nov. 12, Deadline)
