The 15 Best Movies to Watch on Peacock Right Now (July 2026)

Once again, it is time for Jaws

TV Guide Editors

Peacock is mostly known for its sports — it's currently streaming the World Cup — and its TV shows. Not coincidentally, it has one of the smallest movie libraries of the major streaming services. However, the movies it does have tend to be new and/or good. You'll find both categories represented on our list of the best movies to watch on Peacock right now. The list features the recently re-released director's cut of Kill Bill; blockbusters both recent (Wicked) and classic (Jaws); and Academy Award winners like Hamnet. You'll find some good things to watch between footie matches.

We've focused on movies released somewhat recently, as well as some Peacock exclusives that you can't stream anywhere else.

Jaws

Richard Dreyfuss and Robert Shaw, Jaws

Richard Dreyfuss and Robert Shaw, Jaws

Universal

Steven Spielberg's cinema-changing thriller celebrated its 50th anniversary last year, and it's still the platonic ideal of a summer movie — which is why now's the perfect time to watch it again. The story of a ragtag crew battling a killer shark that's terrorizing their beachfront community is executed with a level of craft and energy that's undeniable, and Quint's (Robert Shaw) monologue about "1100 men went into the water, 316 come out — the sharks took the rest" is one of the best things that's ever been in a movie. Its (admittedly inferior) sequels are also streaming. -Liam Mathews [Trailer]

Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair

Uma Thurman, Kill Bill

Uma Thurman, Kill Bill

Lionsgate

Quentin Tarantino always intended for Kill Bill to be one epic movie, but market forces required him to split it in two when it was initially released. 20 years later, he finally released the single four-hour-plus version that combines both Kill Bills into one, and it's arguably even better. Uma Thurman stars as The Bride, an assassin out for revenge against the people who betrayed her. Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair is part of a Tarantino collection on Peacock that includes all of his movies except Once Upon a Time...In Hollywood. -Liam Mathews [Trailer]

Wicked

Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo, Wicked

Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo, Wicked

Universal Pictures

Even musical theater skeptics end up loving Wicked, an adaptation of an equally beloved Broadway musical that tells the origin story of The Wizard of Oz's Wicked Witch of the West, who actually isn't evil at all. They love Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande's performances as Elphaba and Glinda, respectively; they love its immersive production design and elaborate costumes, both of which the film won Academy Awards for; and most of all, they love "Defying Gravity," the musical's signature song. Wicked: For Good, the second half of the story, is also streaming on Peacock.  -Liam Mathews [Trailer]

Nosferatu

Lily-Rose Depp, Nosferatu

Lily-Rose Depp, Nosferatu

Focus Features

Visionary filmmaker Robert Eggers reimagines the 1922 silent film Nosferatu as a sumptuous gothic horror fantasy in this Oscar-nominated feature. Lily-Rose Depp stars as Ellen Hutter, a young woman who invites a malevolent presence into her life: Count Orlok (Bill Skarsgård, who is unrecognizable behind layers of prosthetic makeup, a big mustache, and a booming Romanian accent), a vampire who wants her for himself. Ellen's husband Thomas (Nicholas Hoult) tries to save her, but will his love be enough to overcome the vampire's sinisterly seductive power? This one's for fans of production design and cinematography. -Liam Mathews [Trailer]

Hamnet

Jessie Buckley, Hamnet

Jessie Buckley, Hamnet

Universal Pictures

Jessie Buckley caps an ascendant decade with her Oscar-nominated performance in this emotionally potent historical drama from Academy Award-winning Nomadland director Chloe Zhao. Buckley plays Agnes Hathaway, William Shakespeare's wife, as they grieve the death of their 11-year-old son, Hamnet. William (Paul Mescal) deals with his grief by losing himself in work, which puts a strain on their marriage — but he's working on Hamlet, in which a tribute to Hamnet is embedded. The film earned eight nominations altogether, including Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Adapted Screenplay. -Liam Mathews [Trailer]

Black Bag

Michael Fassbender, Black Bag

Michael Fassbender, Black Bag

Focus Features

Michael Fassbender and Cate Blanchett star in this sexy and cerebral spy thriller from director Steven Soderbergh. Fassie plays George, an MI6 agent tasked with rooting out a leaker in the agency's midst. One of the suspects is his wife, Kathryn (Blanchett), who's also a spy. So he invites the other suspects over for a dinner party, and the psychological spy games get crackling. The cast also includes Marisa Abela, Tom Burke, Naomie Harris, and Regé-Jean Page. -Liam Mathews [Trailer]

Last Breath

Finn Cole, Woody Harrelson, and Simu Liu, Last Breath

Finn Cole, Woody Harrelson, and Simu Liu, Last Breath

Mark Cassar/Focus Features

If you're looking for a competent thriller with an admirably tight 90-minute runtime, click play on Last Breath. Woody Harrelson stars as the leader of a three-man dive team sent to fix an oil pipe in the ice-cold, pitch-black waters of the North Sea. The repair mission turns into a rescue mission when a member of the crew (Finn Cole) gets cut off from the rest of the team with no comms and a limited supply of oxygen. It's based on a true story, and Woody is having a great time. -Liam Mathews [Trailer]

Challengers

Mike Faist, Zendaya, and Josh O'Connor, Challengers

Mike Faist, Zendaya, and Josh O'Connor, Challengers

MGM

This electrifying relationship drama makes tennis into the sexiest thing in the world. It follows the psychosexual games played by Tashi (Zendaya), a highly competitive phenom who suffered a career-ending injury, her submissive husband Art (Mike Faist), whom she coached into becoming a champion, and volatile Patrick (Josh O'Connor), her low-ranked pro ex-boyfriend and Art's former best friend, who comes back into their lives. It's a (homo)erotically charged psychological drama that should have earned Oscar nominations for Best Original Screenplay (Justin Kuritzkes), Best Editing (Marco Costa), Best Original Score (Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross), and Best Supporting Actor (O'Connor). -Liam Mathews [Trailer]

The Wild Robot

The Wild Robot

The Wild Robot

DreamWorks Animation

This animated adventure was nominated for Best Animated Feature at the 2025 Academy Awards. It's about a service robot called Roz that crash-lands on Earth and ends up becoming the mother of an orphaned gosling named Brightbill. Lupita Nyong'o voices Roz, Kit Connor voices Brightbill, and Pedro Pascal voices Fink, a mischievous fox who helps Roz. It's a lovely animated film about family, found and otherwise, that your whole family will enjoy. -Liam Mathews [Trailer]

Asteroid City

Jason Schwartzman and Tom Hanks, Asteroid City

Jason Schwartzman and Tom Hanks, Asteroid City

Focus Features

Every time Wes Anderson directs a film, at least one critic inevitably calls it "the most Wes Anderson movie Wes Anderson has ever made." That might actually be true of Asteroid City, his latest. Anderson's quirky, dollhouse style is at an all-time high in this story that depicts the fateful events of a teen astronomy convention in a retrofuturistic version of 1955. The sprawling cast features perfectly droll performances from Jason SchwartzmanTom HanksMargot RobbieSteve Carell, and more, while the meta narrative (Asteroid City is also the name of a televised play within the movie) adds zany texture. It often plays like a live-action cartoon, as Anderson's best movies tend to. -Allison Picurro [Trailer]

Tár

Cate Blanchett, Tár

Cate Blanchett, Tár

Focus Features

Cate Blanchett's powerhouse performance and Todd Field's script and keen direction launched Tár into the discussions for best film of 2022, with many major prestigious film critics associations naming it their favorite. It was nominated for Best Picture, Best Actress, Best Director, Best Original Screenplay, and more at the Oscars (but didn't win any), further establishing it as a cinephile's favorite. As for what it's about, Blanchett plays an internationally renowned orchestra conductor whose career is disrupted by accusations of misconduct. -Tim Surette [Trailer]

Freaky

Kathryn Newton, Freaky

Kathryn Newton, Freaky

There are plenty of body-swap movies out there, but usually it's a child changing places with their parent, or a kid exchanging basketball skills with Kevin Durant, or Kevin Spacey becoming a cat. How many find a teenage girl trading meatsuits with a serial killer? Kathryn Newton and Vince Vaughn get to have a blast in this incredibly self-aware horror-comedy from director Christopher Landon, who throws in plenty of high school drama for a genre-blender that actually works. -Tim Surette

M3GAN

Violet McGraw, M3GAN

Violet McGraw, M3GAN

Geoffrey Short/Universal Pictures

At first glance, M3GAN seems like a shlock horror film exploiting everyone's fear of creepy dolls, but the Blumhouse-produced movie is actually a smart, satirical look at artificial intelligence and commercialism, and it's funny, to boot. When the experimental android M3GAN becomes a companion to Cady (Violet McGraw), an orphaned 8-year-old girl, its artificial intelligence develops maternal behaviors to protect Cady at all costs. All costs! The result is an extremely enjoyable, campy horror/sci-fi film. -Tim Surette

Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy

Renée Zellweger and Leo Woodall, Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy

Renée Zellweger and Leo Woodall, Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy

Jay Maidment/Universal Pictures

Renee Zellweger returns to her iconic romantic comedy role for the fourth time, and first time since 2016, in this straight-to-Peacock original. This time, Bridget is widowed. She's still grieving the death of her husband four years earlier, but she's starting to get back out there. But Bridget doesn't do anything the easy way, and she starts dating a much younger man, Roxster (Leo Woodall), which is exciting but stressful. It's a rom-com, but there's a lot of sadness in it, so be prepared to have your tears jerked. -Liam Mathews [Trailer]

The Killer

killer

Nathalie Emmanuel, The Killer

Christine Tamalet/Universal Studios/Peacock

Game of Thrones veteran Nathalie Emmanuel gets her action star on in this surprisingly good straight-to-streaming thriller. The special thing about the film is that it's directed by John Woo, one of the greatest action filmmakers of all time, and is in fact a remake of his 1989 Hong Kong film, which starred Chow Yun-fat in the title role. Emmanuel plays a professional assassin in Paris who gets caught up in a job that turns personal. Omar Sy and Sam Worthington co-star. -Liam Mathews [Trailer]
