Frankie, a young, emotionally detached hitman operating in New York City. He carries out small contract killings with little visible feeling, treating murder as routine work rather than moral crisis. Between jobs, Frankie drifts through spare apartments, bars, and casual conversations, interacting with friends and associates-including Willy a jittery accomplice. Relationships are flat and transactional, marked by awkward pauses and ironic detachment.
