Raja Rammohan

'Raja Ram Mohan' is the biopic of one of the greatest visionaries of India. Born in a Hindu Brahmin family Ram Mohan was always against idol worship and evil practices prevalent in Hindu religion. He believed in one god. He was reprimanded by his father and later mother for it but he never let go off his beliefs. He always had an estranged relationship with his mother due to these differences. He He's greatly moved when he sees young women being forced to die with their dead husbands. He starts his protest against this evil practice of 'sati'. He succeeds in passing the sati bill. But some orthodox staunch Hindus protest against the bill. He starts a new religious community the Brahmo Samaj. He goes to England to fight in favour of the sati bill. He promised the Delhi emperor to fight for his case. In return he would pay his expenses in the foreign land. Ram Mohan manages to get the reform bill passed and solves the emperor's problems even after being betrayed by the emperor. The hard work takes a toll o his health and he falls ill. But he is not ready to give up before getting the sati bill passed. After a hard struggle he succeeds in banning sati practice before he breathes his last.
