Practice Makes Perfect

Edouard Choiseul's everyday life would take 48 hours. The famous pianist plays in orchestras, meets international personalities from the music scene, gives lessons at the conservatory and also has to take care of his tax return on time. There are many women in his life, and Edouard is very fond of them all: his wife Marie-France and their three daughters only see him fleetingly at home and dream of a little family outing, which Edouard never has time for. Edouard has promised the naive Muriel a skiing vacation together, but he always leaves her stranded at the Gare de Lyon. He is still such good friends with his ex-wife Lucienne that Edouard sometimes wonders why they separated in the first place. One day, she of all people warns him that Marie-France could soon leave him. Determined to finally be there for his wife and daughters, Edouard takes the long-promised family trip. But as always on the go, he has to return to Paris on the very first evening, where he is due to give a concert. There he meets an old lover and her granddaughter, the sporty and self-confident Valentine, who enchants him with her easy-going manner. Just as Edouard and Valentine are making plans to fly to San Francisco together, Marie-France leaves him with her three young daughters. The new life Edouard had longed for does not take place in the USA, but rather he experiences for the first time what it means to be lonely.
