'Hunting Venus' is a British television comedy-drama starring Martin Clunes and Neil Morrissey as former members of a 1980s new romantic pop group. Simon Delancey is a small-time conman, but he used to lead a small-time band, 'The Venus Hunters'. He regularly evades the police after robbing pensioners of their money and he celebrates one such escape by checking into a B&B that happens to be run by Cassandra, one of the band's small but still-loyal and enthusiastic fan club; and he conned her out of a lot of money in the old days. Cass calls her friend Jacqui round, and they drug Simon and consider doing him serious harm. But there's a live television programme on bands from the 1980's the following Friday. The two girls decide to make Simon re-form the band, for one night only. Simon reluctantly agrees to find his old band members quickly, none of whom actually like Simon due to various reasons. However when they do meet, nearly all of whom try and attack Simon upon sight.
