Failed and penniless after an unsuccessful career in the United States, the suave and unscrupulous former procurer, Tony, returns to Athens, eager to pick up where he left off. Fifteen long and painful years have passed since she last saw him, and now, after all this time, the disillusioned cabaret diva and Tony's ex-lover, Mary, has a startling encounter with the man responsible for her humiliating downfall. Of course, immoral Tony sees his reunion with the weary woman, who has abandoned her husband and child for his sake, as his economic lifeline; however, things can only get worse when he discovers Mary's well-kept secret: her nineteen-year-old daughter and supposedly maternal orphan, Alki.
