Eric Desange has one passion: the paintings of Bax, a fiery artist whose works are rapidly gaining value. In Buenos Aires, Laura and her lover Carlos discover a Bax canvas in their attic, hoping to fund their dream of turning Laura's house into a luxury gym-after the painting is authenticated. Invited to Argentina, Eric realizes another painting lies hidden beneath the visible one and begins restoring it. He uncovers Bax's tragic love for Letizia Fiume, a disfigured artist rejected by the singer he adored, whom he was once commissioned to paint nude in secret. Laura turns out to be Letizia's granddaughter, and she and Eric fall into a love that eerily repeats the past. Jealous and furious, Carlos drives Eric away. Laura later finds Eric dead beside the fully revealed painting: behind the nude Letizia stands Bax-bearing Eric's face.
