Veteran detective DiBiasse heads to his final crime scene accompanied by a young colleague on his first day. Alan Schaeffer, a well-known writer, has just finished his latest novel called Alter Ego. He spent the night awake in his luxurious property, with the feeling that someone will murder him that same day. Faced with some strange noises and Alan's insistence, a security guard at the property is forced to canvas the area over and over again without finding anything. This, along with the pressure the guard is under, begin to generate conflict and alienate both characters. DiBiasse and his partner analyze the brutal crime scene. Something terrible happened in the writer's house. Told in two parallel times, an unexpected twist in the story of Alter Ego reveals the mystery.
