Ben and Kate are a couple who have been married for seven years and are expecting their first baby. When they learn that complications might be harmful to their unborn child, they are forced to call up their respective fathers to ask for a bone marrow donation to help with the impending birth, but both of them are estranged from their respective families. Kate's father, Tucker Jefferson, is a lobbyist who has connections with the US Senate and seeking to run for President. Ben's father, Hamid, is a TV station director living in Iran who also has long disapproved of him marrying an American woman. When Tucker and Hamid first meet, they must put aside their political and social differences to try to save their unborn grandchild's life.
