• Earned his Bachelor of Science degree in journalism from the University of Oregon
• Before he started his television career, he worked at Hawaii Pacific University as an assistant athletic and sports information director
• Started out working behind the scenes as an assignment editor and associate producer, but got his chance to be a sports anchor when the two regular anchors at his station were unavailable one weekend
• Joined ESPN in 2000 as an anchor, eventually relocating to Los Angeles to co-host "SportsCenter․"
• Worked for various television affiliates in Honolulu for 15 years, specializing in sports
• Served as the communications director for the Jeep Aloha and Jeep Oahu bowls
• Appeared alongside Les Miles in a commercial for "SportsCenter․"
