Jill Eikenberry Biography

Fast Facts

• Survived breast cancer, and has since been active in promoting the importance of early detection and breast cancer research
• Started her college career as an anthropology major at Barnard College, but in her sophomore year she was accepted into the Yale School Drama
• Focused on her theater career throughout the 1970s
• Often appears on stage, film and television with actor Michael Tucker, who she married in 1973
• Met student actor Henry Winkler at the Yale Drama School and they went on to become good friends
• Her mother is a fellow breast cancer survivor, and served as an inspiration to Jill during her own battle with the disease
